I believe in simplicity. I believe in feelings and family, friendship and fidelity, forgiveness and fortitude. I believe in miracles, meditation, motherhood and make believe and that music is the only real magic this world has ever seen. I believe in concocting and consuming colorful cocktails and fussing over and feasting on fabulous food. I believe in living out loud. I believe in laughing until your face hurts and loving until your heart breaks. I believe in behaving boldly and when warranted, badly, taking bubble baths and being barefoot. I believe in poetry, puppies and playing in the park. I believe in seeking without ceasing that which sings to my soul and strengthens my spirit. I believe in dancing in the rain and digging in the dirt. I believe in honest expression and the golden rule. I believe in Nature and naps and that naïveté is sometimes necessary. I believe in goodness and gratitude, grit and grace. I believe in unity and the power of the universe. I believe in being authentically awesome. I believe in being better today than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow. I believe in challenges and change and growing pains. I believe in the inherent worth of every creature, being and life force on this planet. I believe in honoring the individual journeys and paths of people whether I understand them or not. I believe in letting people live their truth and trusting that it’s right for them. I believe in lifting up and letting go. I believe that death is just as sacred an experience as birth and that it is never, ever an end.

Mostly, I just believe that I’m never going to stop learning what it is I believe.

“Nothing in the world is permanent, and we’re foolish when we ask anything to last, but surely we’re still more foolish not to take delight in it while we have it.”

—W. Somerset Maugham

Jared Singer, “Beer”

“Tell yourself that the universe is perfect and that everything you do and everything that happens to you is perfect. As you grow spiritually, you will gain a greater understanding of why things are happening, and you will come to see the perfection in everything that occurs. From the higher perspective of today, you may be able to look back into the past and know that things you once interpreted as negative offered you growth and new beginnings.”

—Orin, Spiritual Growth

“Out of the millions of people we live among, most of whom we habitually ignore and are ignored by in turn, there are always a few that hold hostage our capacity for happiness, whom we could recognize by their smell alone and whom we would rather die than be without.”

—Alain de Botton

Unemploy It of the Day: Work It, ABC’s transphobic Bosom Buddies ripoff, has been canceled effective immediately.
The universally reviled drag-com, which replaced the similarly boorish Man Up, will be pulled next week to make room for repeats of the network’s last remaining caveman procedural Last Man Standing (which appears headed for the exit itself).
Work It revolved around the misadventures of two unemployed men who dress up as women to look for work. Hilarity did not ensue.
Word of the cancellation comes less than a week after ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee defended the show’s treatment of transgender women. “We thought there was room for a very, very, very, very silly show,” he told reporters.

YES, YES, YES! It’s just a shame it was allowed to air at all!

Penny & The Quarters - “You & Me”

If the stars don’t shine, if the moon won’t rise, if I never see the setting sun again,
You won’t hear me cry, this I testify; please believe me, boy, you know I wouldn’t lie.
As long as there is

You and me, (Ohhh, oh, oh, oh, oh)
You and me,
Nobody baby but you and me. (Hey, hey, hey)
You and me, (My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my)
You and me,
Nobody baby but you and me.
